Another lovely Costa Rican bird. The photo was taken in the private garden of a lodge manager. He had some feeders hanging and we were allowed to take some pictures
    Cropped for composition.

This is gorgeous, Tom. Great pose and perch, lovely lighting. The range of colors you've captured in this beauty is astounding, and the complimentary background tops it off. Very nicely done. Which lodge?

What a beautiful angle and excellent sharpness! The eye contact is wonderful and perfect BG and perch colors to match the bird!

    Hi Bill,

It's the Laguna del Lagarto Lodge in Boca Tapada. It's really an amazing place in the rainforest with a lot of birds. If you go to Costa Rica you really should go there I think
If you like some more information then let me know.

    Cheers, Tom

I like the pose and the moss on the perch, nice BG too. The shadows are a bit strong and it would have been better if the tail had not merged with the perch

Hi Tom, lovely light, and you have brought out the finer detail very well. Good angled pose, sharp, and I do like the colours in this. Great work.

Thank you Arash. You are right about the shadows, I could soften them a bit. The tail would have been better if it not had merged indeed but that's just the moment

Thanks everyone for your comments, it's appreciated a lot.
