Giovanni I saw the 1st shot first and wished for something more at the top, just to see that you've aready supplied it. So, the 2nd one is definitely my choice (you might have left the leftmost gnu as well here, like you've done in your 1st shot but it's not serious). Nice scene well captured!

I prefer the second one too but would crop out (or clone if that's your preference) the partial animal on the left edge.

I too prefer the 2nd one Giovanni, the treeline makes it even more distinctly Kalahari.
Agree with Rachel on the crop form left. Love the mood the dust provides!
(It can take even more on top??)

    Hi Giovanni

Also prefer the RP, and to remove leftmost Gnu.

    Give us some sky...
    Regards

    Andre.

The dust really adds to the bg and agree with even more on top.

This is IT, Giovanni, in terms of comp the last RP works for me! Well done, evocative scene, I personally like the inclusion of the trees in the BG, they complete the landscape beautifully!

    Kind regards,

    Hi Giovanni

Love this one, and my choice is definitely the last one. Would love to see it big. Does the IQ hold up?

Yes, I like the last one the most (i.e., more sky). Love the tones, dust, and pano comp. I would, however, trim a bit from the bottom as the FG tends to dominate and is not adding much to the image. I also noticed some noise and a couple of dust spots in the sky top left that need taking care of (easy housekeeping fixes). Great work and would love to see this blown up big on a wall if the IQ can hold up!

    Hi Giovanni.

I am going to try and swim up the waterfall here and say that I would prefer the OP if the dust cloud went all the way up to the top of the frame and we could not see the hints of the background that are appearing along the top of frame. I like the moody feeling the animals in the dust provide and in the OP they are sitting exactly where I would want them in the frame... Without the distraction of that hint of BG in the OP we focus on the Gnu and their plight in the dust, which I think is the guts/message of this image...my 2 cents worth anyway.. It's a wonderful image, although because of the aspect ratio the IQ is compromised...

    regards

Hi gio, for me I don't need the background, so I prefer the first image. I like just the gnu and the dust. For me no background means the viewer focus their attention only on the dust and the gnu in this dust. For me this is the message of the image. I do think that the top edge of the first image should not have any of the back ground showing because it's a distraction, so I suggest you clone out or lighten the hint of background showing through the dust... I will go to the PC and show what I mean.

    Hello Don
I have understood what you means and also for me the best is so...but many people (also in my club) preferred the last option with more background....and so I wasn't sure about my firt decision...but you are righ ! Gnu and dust this is the message

    Hi Gio

I agree on showing some sky. The dust adds drama and movement. Very cool image.
