The subject looks great, and I am liking the mud-covered foot. Reflection is OK, a few streaks on it that are unfortunate but not much to do about them. Adding a bit more canvas, if you have it, would not harm the feel of the composition but still fine as is.

This bird is captured beautifully and congrats on a first....always a thrill. I always struggle with reflections and usually don't emphasize unless perfect glassy conditions, but it doesn't take anything away from this nice image, to me. I would like to see how it looks with a little more canvas on the right.

I like the walking pose, sharpness and exposure. I would add a little up top and to our right. Nice image Simon.

Great capture. Would be a lifer for me. Good pose, with perfect angle toward viewer. Good detail. I'm OK with the comp, but certainly a bit on the right wouldn't hurt. I'm wondering if adding just a few points of black to neutrals would give him a little more pop?

Lovely shot Simon, you may want to try the sponge tool on the bird a little judicious brushing just lifts it ever so slightly.
(I was focused on one yesterday and didn't know it until my pal ID'd it for me, its head was stuck under it's wing and it would not budge).

Beautiful bird, nicely shown. Having never had the opportunity to see or photograph one yet your image is a special treat. Thank you for sharing.

I love this! Gorgeous sharpness and detail, and the reflection is wonderful. I love the subdued color palette, too.
