Photographed on Lesvos Greece. This little Owl was sitting next to a small barn so I stopped the car and took some pictures. To my surprise it came flying to me and perched very close by. As he was looking towards me I good make a few shots before he returned to the perch he was before. I always love the eyes of Owls so it was a great moment.

Excellent image Tom! I like the pose, perch, IQ, eyes, sharpness, BG and composition.

Hi Tom, you certainly used your opportunity here. Great eye contact and pose, and love the soft light. Great detail on the face. A car is a perfect hide/blind for shooting subjects. Hope you thanked him/her for the pose.

For me it is mostly the eyes that make owl shots- as your title states - I guess because its the first thing that draws the viewer's eye in. Lovely shot Tom. Good detail and lovely soft complimentary BG. VWd

    Hi Tom
A great shot and it is the eyes that draw the attention. There has been a lot said on here about eye colour of little owls by the big boys and Ii wonder if they might think the eyes are a lttle bit too saturated. . Interesting thoughts. We will see.
    Great pic though.

Thanks everyone for your appreciation and feedback. I really appreciate it a lot

@ John Robinson I didn't increase the saturation on the eyes so it's just how they were.

    Cheers, Tom
