    Default Egyptian Vulture

An Egyptian Vulture in overcast light. They aren't the prettiest, but there is something very unique about their behaviour. The whites are a bit muddy because they actually have rather dirty feathers and the overcast light didn't help.

Technically good, nice composition but I am struggling with the black frame; it is not working for me, maybe I am showing my age. Regards, Ian.

Haha, the frame seems to be very unpopular, I think in the future I will stick to no frame. thanks for commenting.

Hi Dvir, great show of the full wingspread, and a good head turn too. Maybe adding a bit of exp comp as you were shooting up to the sky would have brought out a touch more detail on the underwings.

How are you finding your set up with the 300mm?

Yeah the cloudy skies with some spots of sun made getting a good exposure difficult. They fly very fast as well so I am still getting better at changing exposure extremely quickly. I am very happy with the setup, the focus sometimes isn't perfect with the 1DmrkIII and not all the shots are in good focus, sometimes inexplicably so. The sharpness of the lens is fantastic. And still great with the TC, although sometimes its amazing with the TC, other times less convincing, I will get the new TCs in the next year. With the x2TC its still a good setup, and can have good sharpness and the focus is still good enough for BIF most of the time. Overall very happy I must say.

I like the head angle a lot. I also like the tail overlapping the feet. As for the frame, I voiced my opinion on it in your previous image. You could just put a thin black one a couple of pixels thick.

Yes I could try that, I will try one other frame, and if that one isn't liked, I will try your idea :) thanks.
