In Januari I have spend 4 days in Poland to photograph the White-tailed Eagle. Although the wetter wasn't so good I still good make several nice photos. The photo was taken from a hide and the birds were attracted with food.
This is an immature bird, I think second year.
    Cropped for composition.

Hi Tom nice landing pose of the eagle .Like the colors and overall tonality.Good detail but would expect a bit more sharpness from the 1 Dx , maybe SS was not fast enough.A wee bit tight on top of the frame, for me.

Fabulous bird! I love that landing pose with the underwing detail.

Agree with the overall colours and tonality looking great.

More space would be good, but that comes down to personal preference for me.

    Thanks for sharing!

Spectacular landing pose, great background and color palette. Focus on head and talons looks good, but I can see Andreas' point about the sharpness. Maybe a little more room all around, and a touch more USM? Would still be thrilled to have this in my files.

The outspread wing pose is fantastic, like the others would be thrilled to bits if it was mine.

    Cheers Keith.

Really good light and nice intimate crop, maybe a tad bit too tight on top. Also the sharpness could be a bit better, how big is the crop?

This is a great image, a lot has already been said about the sharpness and the crop, so I am not going to repeat all that.
But, the image has an impact and I love the tonality of the image....very well done.

Great moment nicely captured. Not going to repeat points already raised. I would not have minded having it in my album, for sure!

Beautiful landing pose of this strong looking eagle. The techs look good and the overall colors look good too. A bit more selective sharpening will give this a crisp look

Thanks everyone for your comments and feedback, It's really appreciated.

@ Andreas I agree with you that the sharpness could be a bit better and probably the ss was too slow. Thanks for pointing that out, it keeps me sharp

Also the image is about 40% of the original so there is some quality lost there I think.

    Cheers, Tom

Hi Tom, great show of the near wing and powerful legs from the incoming pose, and I like the overall light and colours in the image. Im fine with the comp/space, but agree a touch of selective sharpening wont harm.

A very powerful pose. Nice light. Adding back some canvas to give the comp some room to breath would help.
