There were not many people out in the rainy this past Saturday, but the shorebirds kept me company. Here's a juvenile Semipalmated Sandpiper that was "enjoying" the weather. The raindrop splashing on the ground adds a neat element IMO.
I'm usually wet just in the front while crawling in the wet mud and sand when photographing shorebirds...but on this day the rain finished the job making sure I was wet all the way around.
Canon 7D + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/400s., f/5.6, ISO 800, natural light, handheld, cropped for composition, faint catchlight enhanced via dodge tool.
I like the way that the wavelet encircles the bird's feet. I like the soft light and the wedge of tan LRC. I very much like the image design. I was going to suggest removing the white bit of plastic trash on the right but changed my mind when I learned that it was the splash of a single raindrop :). The bird's face only seems to be somewhat lacking detail.
Note: with its short, relatively slim bill this bird is surely a male.

I like the DOF, wave, soft colours, exposure and composition. I wouldn't have recognized the rain drop splash if it wasn't in the description, the other drops seem real small. Well done Daniel.
This is a lovely image Daniel. Love the soft tones and raindrops. Good detail. A little bit less OOF in the front would be better IMO but I know that it's a problem for the composition to cut a bit off
