Whilst out shooting Gulls at this location, I couldnt resist having a shot at this Blacksmith Lapwing in the water showing a clean reflection. Captured early morning.

Beautiful, Stu! Love the clean BG & FG, perfect reflection, nice feather detail, nice crop. The bright spot in the eye 'gives it life'. Nice one - well one!

Stuart my only little nit is the bird is a bit central ,that apart you have done a great job with the exposure ,that reflection is super, smashing piece of work..

A beauty Stu, lovely bird and reflection. Nice exposure and detail. If mine I would try moving the bird and reflection to the lower left side of the image, only because I like negative space in an image. The viewers eyes can wander the image always coming back to the subject. Just something to try, nice image as it is.

Thanks Keith. My reason for the placement as posted was that I wanted to keep most of the trailing ripples. I do agree it could still move back a touch.

Thanks everyone else for your feedback.

Stuart I can see your point re the ripples, so leave well alone.

I like the exposure, walking pose, reflection and sharpness. I would take a little off the bottom. Excellent image Stuart!

I like the perfect reflection and the clean design of the image. I would go a bit tighter on the composition.
