Another image from my trip to New Brunswick last September. This was taken the day I was leaving and a friend and I were driving along the Bay of Fundy Trail before we caught our plane to go home. This was a 1/15 sec. exposure and I did a white balance correction in Nik Color Efex.

This is nicely composed, and I like the layers of color. It's nice that there's some deviation from horizontal in them and some repetition in colors. The predominant lavender cast is very appealing.

    Cheryl,

Greetings. You've applied just the right shutter speed to my eye... just enough detail, just enough smoothing. Is that a distant shore or just a wistful thought we're seeing? Thanks much for posting.

    Cheers,

    -Michael-

Love the soft shades of blue blending together from layer to layer. Very soothing. Also really like the very minimalist approach. Well done.

Cheryl, I love abstracts such as this-they give the viewer a chance to contemplate without pre-loading the mind with details. The hues and values are wonderful as is the amount of detail present in the foreground. The frame balances well and leads off into the distance. My only critique, a very minor one-would be the white cap about a third up-frame and just left of center, it kind of looks like a scratch and snags my eye. Lovely work!

Thanks, Michael. Ah, I think it could be either

Thanks everyone for your comments. Randall, I know which mark you're talking about.

Something very pleasing about this Cheryl. I like the magentas and the simple comp. I thought you had added textures so I would agree with Randall about that one white cap or two.

I find this image very calming and appealing. I could picture it at the MOMA, about 15 feet across. Very pretty indeed.

Calming and beautiful. Simple and effective. Lovely, soft colors. I see a white spot almost in the center, and a white stripe lower down that distract me. Otherwise--just right.
