I captured this Limpkin as it was about to dive into the tall grass at Circle B Bar Reserve in Polk County, Florida. Pretty much a grab shot I only had time to set the EV and find it in the viewfinder and shoot. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

A cool capture Joe. I am finding the background vegetation a bit bright and wonder how it would look just a little darker? Overall looks good for this kind of spontaneous capture. Regards, Ian.

Even with the near wing covering most of the body I like the pose. The far wing being pretty cool. Busy BG, that's where they live, but Ian's suggestion may improve the feel of the image. The comp feels a bit tight as posted, if you have a bit more room to add back that would be good IMO.

These Limpkins sure don't get in to many ideal areas to get shots of, you got it while you could and captured it well. I got a few from Circle B when I was there.

A bit tight in the frame but a very nice landing pose.

    Cheers, Tom

A very neat behavioral capture. They sure do disappear once they land.

Nice catch! You might try going to Selective Color and darkening Green and Yellow. Might not even need any masking. Of if it messes up the yellow on the beak, that's an easy masking job.
