    Default Pushing the limits..

We spent hours with the three youngsters with Carl after some serious off road driving to locate them. We finally settled in a drainage line to get some low angle images.

Their mom finally arrived and the three Musketeers were delighted! She was one the meanest, biggest mommy lion I have had the privilege to meet, have seen many in 15 years in the bush.

The youngster was showing his affection and maybe playing a bit too rough for her liking..
Thanks again Carl for this amazing opportunity on our doorstep

    Techs:
D3S with 70-200 (got a second one now, D4/S still out of reach!?)
    1/1000 with 6.3
    ISO 2800

Removed a grass stem at her back, NR on BG, LR5,6 and CS6.
Settled on Manual exposure with S/S and F-stop decided by me, Auto ISO, Centre weighted metering.
    C&C appreciated.

Loving this moment here Andre. Well timed, framed and processed. Gotta love that "ISO priority" shooting style eh?
Might take off some on the RHS?

Great color tones and balance. I like it just as it is. Those teeth and whiskers just jump out of the frame.

Hi Andre - Looks like you all really had a great time with these lions. I absolutely love the grimace and the mouth. It all works for me. Looking forward to more from your day with the lions.

    TFS,
    Rachel

Thank you Morkel, Edward and Rachel for kind comments.
Morkel. when the light is changing constantly, you can not beat it, no blurred images due to slow SS, just some noise to deal with...

Love the behaviour exhibited here Andre, well captured with good techs, great pose and lighting also.

Quite agree Andre, ever since my D3s purchase 4 years ago I often revert to M + ISO priority in challenging times.

As I said to you this morning your images are so similar to mine(haha) and that I strangely been working on this particular one for the past few days. However I think you yours has been worked and well processed if I compare it to mine. WD

Hi Andre nice capture with good POV and nicely framed the action.
Lovely colors and overall tones /contrast , might think about reducing the blacks a fraction during processing , looking a bit heavy in parts.I say that .

    TFS Andreas
