    Hi all ,
go back to the seals and post this close up of this Antarctic Fur Seal . Image taken in Gold Harbour on South Georgia Island , conditions has been not ideal as most of the time on that still fantastic trip.

    Canon EOS 1D MK IV
    EF 500 IS L
    Tripod + Gitzo Fluid Head

    F 5,6 ; Iso 4000 ; 1/1600 sec ; better used different setting to avoid the HIGH Iso .

Processed with PhotoNinja and PS CC ; cropped for comp slightly.

Hope you like it , thanks for watching and leaving a comment to my previous posting .

    Cheers Andreas

Very nice portrait. Great details and nice BG with the rain adding interest

What are the irregular contours in the pupil? I took a few seal shots this week and thought it was an injury but seems your seals have the same.

    Thanks for sharing

Hi Andreas - Nicely framed and captured. Great details and sharpness. Falling snow/rain adds to the image for me. Nice one!

fabulous portrait Andreas! I would try to back down on sharpening just a tad - the wet fur certainly leans itself to looking oversharpened quite quickly.
you should be careful, I am the one who posts high ISO images most frequently and I don't like my titles stolen from me

Thanks to all of you who commented to this , much appreciated .

Mr High Iso man , do not want to battle with you about this ............. but what was the Highest Iso shot with acceptable IQ you ever posted !
If it was equal or above 20.000 , you have the crown if you are under , i take your title , with ease .

Yes i could temper the sharpness a fraction , thanks for your pointer .

    Cheers Andreas

Nice one Andreas, Agree with Morkel on sharpness.
Me too, not afraid of high ISO, very much afraid of softness

What is the story with the pupil?
    Regards

    Andre.

Thanks Carl and Andre for your comment , much appreciated .
Nothing wrong with the pupil , it is just depending on light angle and the quality of Image editing , to bring the pupil out .
