Default Theme - Rain in Micanopy

We've had quite a bit of rain this summer but this was taken several years ago from inside my car through the windshield. I posted a similar one several years ago. I wanted to give this an analog effect so I used Nik Silver Efex, selenium toning with Kodak 3200 film effect for grain at 80% so I could bring back in a little bit of color.
    Thanks for looking.

Cheryl, I remember this image. I like the multiple leading lines of buildings, trees and street. I also like the hint of color. To my eye the buildings in the bg appear to lean a bit to the right. The town appears to be of another century.

Thanks, Gary. The town (and buildings) are from the early 1800's so everything is leaning. It's a great little town - the main street is only about 10 blocks long and no traffic lights.

Cheryl I remember this view, but it wasn't raining when I was there, could have been snowing, it was cold enough...Very nice effects and composition

Lovely. The whole image says Rain. I like the tones with hints of color. I like the effect of taking it through the windshield--just the way one sees the world from inside a car on a rainy day. The water running down the street emphasizes the water theme. I think the image needs a slight CCW rotation, and perhaps a bit of a crop off the bottom. Excellent entry.

Cheryl, I really like the muted color and overall composition-what really sets this one off (for me) is the slightly distorted, wavy appearance of the building. It certainly imparts the feeling and mood of a rainy day. Well executed!

I like the scene, itself, and your perspective with the leading lines. The hint of color fits the image very well, especially with the rain. The foreground emphasizes the rain and adds to the feeling of depth, so I'd not be inclined to crop it. I played around with a masked Curves layer to lower the contrast of the background buildings to further emphasize the depth. It was done by centering a diamond gradient between the two closest trees, dragging it to somewhere in the foreground building, and then painting with black to restore the contrast on the trees, the foreground building, and much of the street.
