Hi Joseph, I think you have the wrong title here - how about 'rock chick' Gotta love that 'spikey' hairdo on youngster, and I really like how you have cropped this with parent tight in the frame, guarding over the chick. Overall well exposed, and I do like the detail and colours on the parents head and bill. Im fine with the shadows too, as they are not over parents head.

What a capture, Joseph. I agree with Alan's comment, and beautiful light on both.

Agree that the chick is stealing the spotlight here! You managed to get the light and the shadows in the right spots.
The comp is a bit tight for my personal taste but I have a feeling you had to crop it tight to get rid of the BG crap!
A lovely image and you get bonus points for making me smile!!

Excellent image. Beautiful composition. Love the hair do of cute one and great details in nicely exposed whites.

Thank you all for viewing and commenting. I very much appreciate it. It is very special to follow a pair of egrets from nest building, through egg laying, to hatching of the chicks, and finally watching the chicks grow. That was the case in this instance, wonderful memories I will always have. Thank you all once again.
