    A group or 'bevy' of Black Swans in the very early morning sun yesterday enjoying a bright sunny morning for once. It has been raining heavily here for over a week and yesterday morning I decided to brave the weather and hope for the best. It certainly did not disappoint, with an amazing morning to start off spring.

    =====================================================

    Canon 1DX & 500mm F4 + 2xTCIII 1/500s @f8 ISO640 - 1.5 stops off the water - for support I used a Gitzo GT3542LS + Jobu Pro 2 - For editing I did base adjustments with sliders in lightroom and then imported it into photoshop to use Artie's amazing NIK 50/50 Contrast and detail extractor which he so kindly shared on his blog a few weeks ago (which I must add has been amazing and love using it) and sharpened using an unsharpen mask

    I like the backlighting here, and the dual poses look great. Neat effect on the water, just wondering if there is just a bit too much of it as a FG element...perhaps cropping up, say to above your signature, would be better? The vertical lines seem to be straight, but the horizontal ones may suggest a CW rotation needed. Pretty neat overall, glad you got a nice morning after all the rain.

    Hi Scott,
    The poses are great and I really like the dripping water.
    i find the swans a bit too small in the frame for my taste. I think if you went a bit tighter you would show the viewer some more details in the swans.

    Good work Scott. I like the idea here. Good suggestions from Daniel and Gail. Cheers, Ian.
