Reworked an image taken in 2013 at Amboseli. Whenever I look at this image, i feel sad for the elephant because human wants their tusks. We blamed the Chinese, but i was stunned to learn that the US market is the second largest market for ivory. Please spread the words, we do not want or need any ivory knicks knacks or antique!

Hi Loi - You're also a day early for the theme! The conversion and square comp work well here. Nice textures and detail. Thanks for the reminder about ivory.

Nice texture and detail, especially in the tusks. I feel like it needs a CCW rotation as I feel the Elephant is leaning to the right. Not a huge fan of the crop, I feel it needs to go in tighter, or more space. The B&W conversion looks quite basic, I just feel it's lacking punch.
Good info on the Ivory trade...I also only found out that information earlier this year.

Impactful image Loi. I love the texture of this beautiful tusker. I may be tempted to crop a bit higher up on his head (if you have it). Thanks for sharing this one!

Hi Everyone, thank you for your comments. Agreed that the B&W isn't working as well as I had hoped, so here is another try with the color version. Cropped a tad tighter, but i wanted to include the eyes. Also did a little rotation. The elie was walking, so she was leaning to one side, but you are right, this image should be leveled. Hope you like it better.

Rachel, you may see a little bit of halo, but i think it is due to re-sizing.

    thank you. Loi

Hi Loi , nice head on pose of this big fella .
I actually prefer the B/W even if it is "only" a straight one .I think at least your best conversion to date , for me.I would just try get more tonal variation in the B/W and you are good to go .
    Agree about the rotation .

Hi Loi - another vote for the color version but with more room above. I don't see a halo here.
