    Green Woodpecker
    Wierd pre historic looking jobs ! This one is coming in to drink.
    The sand is that colour ! - its the old red sandstone and this is from the quarry hide.
    Sadly gone now, as its filled in.

    60% of frame( large crop) Neat image didn;t like the small pixel count. Works much better on the 24 million!!!

    Nice one John. Great colours, maybe a wee bit more on top, I like the wet bit on the bill. Lovely pic.

    We used to get them up my neck of the woods, but havn't seen or heard one for 2 years. I used to like watching them eating ants on the paved part of the garden

    It dose have a prehistoric look to it is right. Nice look at this bird John and I really like the green color against that sandstone BG sand. He/She gave you a nice side profile shot so everything is nice and sharp and I like the great looking eye contact. I too like the wet tip of the beak. Well done.

    Hi John, this fellow looks like he knew you were around, what a great pose he gave you. I do like all the detail and colours, and I feel you nailed the sharpness. Glad you didnt cut off the shadow.

    Really like this image, super detail and a difficult bird to photograph, I would be very happy if I shot this.
