    Hi Tim
I,m a sucker for close ups so say no more ! Lovely shot. The slight graduation in the BG helps too.
    Good stuff

Good work Tim. Looks just a touch over sharpened for my taste but otherwise spot on. Regards, Ian.

Very nice close up and portrait. The detail is awesome, though I agree with Ian reg the sharpening.

Like John I'm a sucker for a well done close up and this one fits the bill. A bit oversharpened as posted, and I could see a version with more room above (maybe double the current amount), but I love the crop on the subject itself, the wet feathers, good light, and neat BG.

Beautiful portrait, lovely light, great detail and eye contact. If mine, I might give it slightly more room on top.

Nice portrait with wonderful feather details. Seeing a slight halo under the bill tip and agree with just a bit more room on top. Light is really nice! Sharon

I love shorebirds. How big a crop. Looks super-sharp to me. I am fine with the framing. Does not look over-sharpened to me. I do see the tiny halo on the base of the lower mandible but only when I tilt the screen so no fair on that :). All in all, excellente! What month and where?

I think the over-sharpening look is actually the unavoidable noise from the 7D, especially at ISO 640 (comments above).

Took this on the north shores of lake Erie on Aug 21 2013.

Thanks Tim. That is a mega-crop but IQ held up just fine.
