Andreas re the perch, bet this magnificent bird decides just which perch it's like's with no consideration for where you would like it ,looks like a very good job with the exposure against that nice sky, afraid I can't find any nits to pick it looks excellent to me.

    Cheers Keith.

    Andreas:

The strong side lighting gives him a menacing air, and adds a strong sense of shape/form. Strong eye contact with that imperious stare.

Yes the perch is busy. Its effect is somewhat neutralized by the birds size, and his head being so far above the perch, your eye is drawn upward and doesn't get hung up so much on the clutter.

    Cheers

Great bird. Sharp with good work on the sidelight. The cluttered perch does not work at all for me.... Ah, for the want of a clean branch.

What a bird! I remember seeing it in the Kruger....huge and powerful. I wish for a nicer perch. It would have been great to have the sun directly behind you, but you dealt well with the circumstances and the shady part is visible too.

I have always liked these awesome raptors and would love to see one in the wild sometime. Great looking pose and I like the solid stare. Looks like the light was a bit harsh and it's a shame that the light wasnt directly behind you. Not sure if you did but some selective lightening of the left side of the face, might help allot. I dont mind the perch as that's what it chose. Well done.

Magnificent beast. Agree with the comments above. Unfortunate the impressive talons of this species are not visible due to the perch
