Default Bachelor bull in golden light.

This bull is strutting his stuff in late golden light on the Luangwa River
This northern section of the park is dedicated to walking safaris only, a remote and beautiful area of the park with very few roads and where the wildlife can truly be called "wild".
Can't wait to return here in 8 weeks time.
Would have loved him coming toward, rather than away from me, but pretty happy with this all the same.

Remote North Luangwa Nat Park- Zambia.

    D3s 80-400 AF-S 1/160s f/6.3 ISO400@ 390mm. Slight crop for comp.

    C & C most welcome

    Cheers
    Marc

Hi Marc , really gorgeous light and colors in very lovely setting . Nice tones and comp with very nice detail .
Understand your thoughts on going away from you , not ideal , just one issue to say not really that good working .

Must be a nice place that you described

Love the light and the gradations of light hitting the water, ele, riverbank etc...Pose works for me. Walking safaris rock, especially if the game doesn't run away at first sight/sound of you.

PS: Come to Mana Pools mate, there the elephant bulls come towards you (up to 2-3 meters in fact)...

Hi Marc - Gorgeous light and colors and I like the water dripping from the trunk and tusks. Very unfortunate that the ele is angled away rather than parallel or toward you.

    TFS,
    Rachel

Beautiful in all respects, Marc! I think you'll have to move to South Africa permanently - these trips must be becoming waaay to expensive for comfort!

Great light and nice scene. Splashing and drinking adds. I actually like the fact he's walking away from yo and the composition works nicely.

I don't mind that he's walking away from you - and I recognise that kind of setting. There's nothing to match early dry season light.

So true Ed, the lighting is far more forgiving than late season.

Nice shot of this bull ion his environment. Really like the bands of color and texture. And of course the lighting.
