Took this last week while visiting friends in Marque, Texas. It was a very cloudy day, but plenty of birds including Painted Buntings, Cardinals, Carolina Chickadees, Hummingbirds, and a White-breasted Nuthatch that I understand is rare for the area. I posted in this forum because of the board fence - was this correct?? CC welcome.

    Have a blessed day - dave b.

You have posted in the right forum as the fence represents "hand of man". I love the Blue Grosbeak.....so colorful. There appears to be a bit of noise in the green BG which could be removed with a little selective blurring. Although the setting is colorful, I think that it might detract from the bird. I think it might have worked better with a more drab bird but here it competes a little too much with the bird. With birds like that, I'd be moving in for a few weeks.

What I like about the shot is you were able to get the Grosbeak somwhat out in the open which is nice. I do think that the surrounding plants are to strong around the subject and compete to much with the shot. Although an ideal situations for a perfect shot don't always happen the way you want and you just take what you can get...

I think this is a fine image. I like the surrounding area because it shows the bird in a natural habitat.Sometimes the bird , in a plain or single color background, looks sterile.
