Another from the series of endeavours to get these flight shots of the Little owl parents coming down from the nest to the old and decaying post. The BKG is the old Willow tree trunk.

On reflection, perhaps a sliver off the top?

Thank you to those who viewed & commented on the Barn owl image.

WOW!!! Cracking image Steve (You are pretty good with the birds too) Love the pose and the Owl really pops out on that BG. The talons and feet really stand out for me, great detail and texture there.

    Steve:

Great landing pose, feet out, slight angle in frame adds.

I might consider trying a version where you lower the luminosity of the stump just a bit, so it is less prominent visually. Minor tweak, might make the owl pop even more.

I can see your thought about a sliver off the top, but do like it as is.

    Cheers

Cracker landing pose Steve, love the outstretched talons and serious look in his eyes. I might also try and darken the stump to help the owl pop more. (In an ideal world their would be no stump but then again that would stop us going back :)). Thanks for sharing!

Great looking incoming frame Steve. I really like the extended feet and the perfectly flared wings. The detail and exposure look perfect too and it's good too see you shooting at 1/3200th :) Well done
