From Jamaica Bay WR yesterday morning. (Thanks, Artie, for some location tips.) With a variety of peeps in the water to choose from, I was lucky that my glance fell on this guy as he was bathing, and locked focus on him just as he began his wing stretch. He held it at full wing extension for five frames, with subtly different head positions of which this was the best. Didn't realize it was a White-rumped until I got home. Cropped from horizontal, corrected slight over-exposure in RAW; adjusted levels; NR & USM. C&C appreciated as always.
This is wonderful Bill.Love the low POV giving you that great BG. I love that shade of green.
Great wing stretch with a great HA.
Wish this was mine,
Gail
PS The whites look great so your PP is good.
Yes to wonderful. ID note: note the strong line over the eye, the streaks on the flanks, and the faintly orange base of the lower mandible. When you first e-mailed me this image I was wondering about the exposure.... When they flash those underwings we find out that they are very white. This is one case where being in Av mode would be better than manual....
As I said to be via e-mail, "I Hope to get one half as good as this one..."
