Perfect wing position and just the tiniest angle toward you. Great blacks and whites (area near the rear flank just pushing the limit, but looks good to me). Vertical comp works nicely, and I could also imagine a horizontal version with some room to fly into. But I'd take this in a minute.

Bill has commented on important features of this excellent image. I love the wing position and great detail. The soft horizon line makes for an appealing bg.

Too sweet. Fort DeSoto?
Ditto all the positives above. A bit of a crop from behind would make a very strong image even stronger.

ps: love that lower mandible in the water. Is this from a horizontal ORIG?

Thanks for the feedback. the raw file was shot in landscape orientation. My fault that the bird was poorly placed in the upper right corner of the image, But I thought the wing position was the best of the day. Artie: the shot was taken on Marco island. Thanks for looking and commenting.

Great exposure and superb action captured. I feel it needs a clockwise rotation and I would back of the sharpening a touch...Specifically the water splashes and head.

Good eye on the need for horizontal rotation.

Great shot Robert. Nice exposure and techs. I like the BG color and the pose looks classic.

I love the extension of wing and bill. Fine job.
