    Default Little bit of velvet

Love shooting whitetails anytime of year but especially in velvet. Got handcuffed by this one but managed to pull off the extender even so it is still just a tad tighter then I would have liked.

Hi Joe - Welcome to the Wildlife Forum! I agree with your self-critique that it is a little tight, particularly on the rhs. Overall IQ looks good and I really like the extended tail and the blissful look on the face, as well as the velvet. Perhaps not the most flattering pose or angle but not much you could do about that unless you could get a little higher in the field. Colors and sharpness look good. The only other thing I might do if it were mine would be to open up the midtones a little. Looking forward to seeing more of your wildlife images.

It would be great if you could add your thoughts to some other wildlife images. We recommend commenting on at least 3-5 other wildlife images each time you post one of your own. It's the best way to learn and get the most out of BPN and also fosters a sense of community.

    TFS,
    Rachel

Very nice IQ and the colours look spot on. I like the shooting angle and that it looks like you were hiding in the grass and the buck had no idea you were there... I love the tail flicked up.

    Welcome here Joe!
I agree this works, can even go tighter all around and really focus on the face and the enjoyment you can see on it.
Colours, sharpness and contrast all top notch for my tastes.
I can only echo what Rachel said about participation...looking forward to more of your work!

Thanks everyone, I've been a little active on the Avian forum in the past.
