This one is an adult in non-breeding plumage, in comparison to Geoffrey's recent post of the molting male taken at the same location. Very different birds in breeding and non-breeding plumages, but equally handsome either way IMO. Removed several small stems that were touching the bird.

Nice vertical presentation, and a super BG. I like the grasses for the most part, just wish there was not so much merger with the subject. Very sparrow-like...this is a plumage that confuses many beginning birders.

Love the perch and BG. I would swing the lens to the right just a bit.

Hi Bill, I really like the light in this, and you managed a cool pose framed between the two pieces of grass perch. Great detail and colours throughout. Well captured.

Love the colors and the way that the bird is perched on the grasses, almost looks relaxed. Beautiful work, Bill.
