    Default Black-crowned Night Heron.

This is a place where thousands of Double-crested Cormorants nest right along a busy road and among them a couple BCNH are found.
It was relatively early but the light gets very strong very fast this time of the year.
    Thanks for looking.

    Karl:

Great eye, nice angle in frame, background adds a nice sense of depth.
I might pull the curve down just a little bit and consider a small crop from the top, so he is setting higher in the frame.

    Cheers

I really like the composition, but agree with Randy's suggestions. Just a tad bright to me, and think it higher in the frame would strengthen the composition. Nicely done.

Excellent critiques above and repost definitely an improvement but I might tone down just a tad more.

I'm with Mike -- just a tad. Is there a little more on the left? Would be easy to add canvas there.

Hi Karl, love this angled pose, and you have certainly brought out the detail so well. Great eye. Your repost raises the bar.
