    Default Snapping Turtle

This rather ominous looking creature is a one-year-old snapping turtle (shell diameter = 32 mm). Adjustments of brightness, contrast, and white balance quickly made this image vary from bright and cheery to dark and moody. I thought the latter would be more appropriate in this case. Photographed in my 2.5 gallon aquarium setup, 1D IV, 100 mm macro, 1/125, f/16, ISO 200, 2 radio-triggered 430EX flashes (manual mode, diffused), HH, AF. I removed some of the floating bits of debris in the water and ran nr on the background. All comments are welcome and appreciated.

Very natural looking shot of one of these beautiful creatures.

Great pose and nice DOF. Cannot tell it is through the glass wall of a tank.

As Ron mentions above, this looks very natural

I honestly think you copied this from a National Geographic!

It is reminiscent of a Franz Lanting. (But sharper!)

Steve these aquatic shots seem to get better and better. I like the setting and the lighting and the pose really is superb. Great shot well done.

Great, Steve. Another excellent contribution from that aquarium setup.
