Wow! This is a terrific image.
Tack sharp, soft, diffuse light ( helps the yellow so much), great detail in all the feathers, nice 2 tone BG, lovely pose- tick all the right boxes.
My favorite part are the OOF reeds on the right. They really add a sense of environment without distracting the eye from the bird.
If I had one suggestion it would be to crop out or clone out the little bit of stem on the lower left corner.
    Congrats on a fine image,
    Gail

    Tim:

Excellent points from Gail. Not an easy bird to expose properly. I had one go at one a number of years ago, as they are quite uncommon in my area, and the yellows were quite a challenge in the bright light.
The fanned tail, slender perch with circling grip, his head angle, soft background, all good. I also agree that the slight 'texture' in the bg adds a lot.
I might consider a version with a sliver off the top, just to move him away from the horizontal midline a bit, personal preference really.

    Well done.

    Cheers

What a lovely feel to this one. Loving the varied yet subtle BG. Would crop a tad from the right to eliminate the part of the stem showing but also to move the perch a little more to the corner. Great pose and exposure here.

Wonderful. The light and exposure bring out the details to perfection. No nits.

This is sweet! love the BG, pose and good details. The perch balances the composition nicely. I would also crop a bit from btm right to eliminate the stem

    well done

I would also take a little off the top as has been suggested, but it's a beautiful image as is too. Well done!
