    Default White-tailed skimmer.

This was taken whilst photographing little grebes hence the rather large 'macro lens'. I didn't expect too much with the 2X TC attached but think it looks Ok. Almost full frame.

    1DX 500F4 II + 2X TC, HH, F11, ISO 1000, SS 1/500s.

C&C welcome. Thank you for looking.

Dave excellent effort you have a very good image there. I have two suggestions given your equipment - 1) increase the shutter speed and therefore increase ISO, 2) open up the shadows a little.
I appreciate you have IS but I have learned that a fast shutter speed makes an enormous difference to a fairly fast shutter speed.

Very nice! I agree about getting a faster SS, but you did very well with what you had here. This might be an image where some judicious sharpening would help.

I really like the almost monochromatic dragonfly on the green-on-green BG.

Hi Dave. Sometimes those long "macro" lenses produce excellent images! Very nice comp, exposure, background, and colors. Also, good suggestions for subtle tweaks by Jon and Diane. Very well done!
