    Default Field Sparrow

I ventured out to a local grassland at sunrise one day last week. I got 4 species of sparrows including this Field Sparrow. Possibly a young one - he doesn't seem to have his full rufous cap. I've left him small in the frame since I liked the early morning light on his delicate perch. Cloned out several twigs, and a dew-covered spider's thread that seemed to distract more than it added. C&C appreciated.

Nice light, HA, BG, sharpness and overall comp, Bill. I like the diagonal that the bird and perch occupy. I might crop in just a little from the right to bring the intersection of the branch up from the LRC a little. As posted, the perch is coming out of the LRC which is thought to be less than an ideal composition situation (IMHO)

Love it! I like the light and the composition, I know you deliberately removed the web but it does leave the image very perfect or clinical, I haven't seen how big or tatty it was but it is just a consideration.

Jonathan, here's the version with the spider's thread. You'll see that I also removed the "branch" that supported it. Perhaps too clinical in the OP, but I liked the simplicity.

Bill the web is ok by me but I guess the missing branch/trig was the real problem.

Good decision on the crop. I like the original with the little clean up you did, Bill.
