This common jumping spider is usually found hunting on brick walls and other flat surfaces in gardens. It is easy to identify by its white "moustache" which it twitches constantly. Here it had dragged its prey into a cavity in the rock wall

    Love it !
The way the DOF is just enough to separate the subject from the surround is spot on. Nicely framed by the rock cavity too,
    Good one.

Hi Shane. I really like almost everything about this image! The spider is sharp and posing nicely, the rocks make a great frame for your subject, and I like the off-center comp. You might consider toning down the OOF rocks in the lower right and left corners as those bright areas tend to draw my eye away from your cool subject. I would wish that the front (?) of the prey item was sharp as that would really put this strong image over the top. Probably not much you could have done in that regard other than to try stacking (but not usually successful when HH).
