    Default Another Hermit Thrush?

I'm in preschool as far as bird ID goes. Saw these guys (or ladies?) at our feeder setup this morning (NW of San Francisco, inland 30 mi or so). They weren't feeding that I saw -- maybe interested in the water. They didn't hang around long and I didn't try playing calls. Will tomorrow. I saw an apparent hermit thrush very briefly last spring -- the only other time I've seen one.

I'm guessing the first is an adult and the second one a juvenile -- hope I can post two in an ID forum.

    Any help appreciated!

Juvenile American Robin. They'll probably pretty much loose the spots by September.

OK -- I have seen a few Robins in the area so that would fit. But they look rather different -- both are the same?

Yes, both are American Robins. The bottom one is even younger with less development of the head feathers and a more pronounced yellow gape at the base of the mouth.
