Default Barred Owlets About to Fledge

    Attached Images Attached Images

These owlets were photographed only 9 minutes after this image http://www.birdphotographers.net/for...-For-Paparazzi where the baby can be seen peeking its head out of the cavity for the first time. Only 30 minutes later, the adventurous owlet on the right was branching. I imagine they were pretty tired of being cooped up in the cavity for so long b/c they were raring to evacuate!

This series was photographed from the back of a pick up truck. Did a little bit of dodging and burning here to help deal with the dappled light. I actually prefer the last image I posted but many people don't see the baby peeking out in that image.

Your comments and critiques are always most welcomed and much appreciated.

Hi Marina, ' joined at the hip' - these two fuzz balls really do look like one, and I like the eye contact from both chicks. Well exposed and good detail on both. Both images great, but I prefer this as we can more of the chick on the left.

Cute image Marina. Little white fuzzballs. Well exposed and good detail. Pity about the bark not providing much contrat against the white of the owls, but these things cant be changed. TFS

You surely are able to find the Owl Nests. Nice eye contact and catchlight with both. I prefer this shot to the first as, the smaller chic is not as crowded here.

You're capturing some magic moments with these two owlets! Although you handled the exposure well, I wish there wasn't a bright spot on top of the upper bird's head.
