    Default Millenium Falcon

This is my first post so please excuse any errors or omissions. This is Millenium the falcon from the World Bird Sanctuary in St. Louis. [IMG] In post I cropped the image. bu[/IMG]

    Hi Sandy, and welcome!

Something has gone wrong with your post -- it looks like a very tiny JPEG has been upsized, which causes very low image quality.

You should see the same thing everyone else is when you look at this post. There is a line of text with a thumbnail in the middle of it and some extraneous text. Clicking on the thumbnail connects to a Flickr page with the image, but you should be able to embed the picture directly in the post here, at full size, just as you see in other posts. And you should give some information about it. (I see you did that int he first post.) See the sticky at the top of the ETL forum -- it will be rewritten soon, but the information is there. There is also a section about posting from Flickr but I don't know if it is current.

I've taken the liberty of deleting all the failed attempts. Can you try again, to get the picture, and relevant information, in one post? You can preview a post to see if it is working or not.

I'm working on an updated document for posting from some web storage locations. I don't use Flickr so am not sure these are correct, but I think so. Can you help test them? Thanks!!

    Posting Images from the Flickr

Open a new tab in your browser (or a new window – a tab is easier to navigate).

Go to your Flickr site and make sure you’re logged in.

    Click on the desired image.

To the right of the image, click on the rectangular box with the arrow coming out of it.

    Then click on BBCode

Select a size (that may be a guess at first but you can edit your post and change it)

The appropriate code is highlighted. Copy it with Ctrl-C (PC) or Cmd-C (Mac).

Then come back to the BPN forum and paste the link in the message window in your post. (Ctrl-V or Cmd-V).

Before the thread type [ img] and after it type [/img ]. BUT DON'T leave those spaces that I put in. I had to insert the spaces or your browser would look for a picture in between those two img tags.

Don't put anything else on that line.

Type any text you desire, on any other lines. Use the Return key to pad your image from the text with blank lines.

It works but is very confusing since so many people, myself included, are used to being able to just upload or just type in an address. For $20, so much easier to just join!. On that point, I did not click on the membership tab because that title is usually reserved for private parts of a website. Could something like become a member or subscribe be used instead for those of us oldies but goodies?
Anyway, once I joined, had no problem at all.
