Not much crop, tweaks for lights/shadows in LR and smart sharpening in PS

C&C most welcome, trying to learn.

Beautiful bird, well exposed, good detail. I might give it a bit more room on RHS.

OK -- you have good eyesight and a good viewfinder! Looks very nicely sharp and detailed! A beautiful bird and a nice perch that brings out the browns in the bird.

I'm curious about the white BG -- just one of those white sky days? But it looks like only slightly diffused sun from the shadows. Dramatic presentation at any rate -- well done!

Ok, repost to add more canvas on the right. Thanks for the reminder about that. :)

Many thanks! The BG is what it is, high thin cloud cover at around 4pm and the light was bright but diffuse. (It's winter in Botswana so the sun was low.)

The added room on the right was a good call. The original post was a little tight. The bird was nicely exposed against the light background.

Very well exposed bird...its colors are beautiful. I wondered about the white BG too...it actually works well because it makes the bird pop.

Yes, I prefer the added room. Nice managing of the light!
