We came across a nice, sizeable heard of Cape Buffalo (approx 300) one afternoon, accompanied by the usual plague of flies (two OOF on the nose) and Oxpeckers. I just quite liked the light and the eye which was acting like a beacon, drawing you in. I could blow in some darker colour at the top by the horn & between the horn/ear, but am leaving it as I'm happy as it stands, as I said, I just like the overall light.

Nice light and extreme closeup, Steve.
I'd be tempted to crop more from the bottom and LHS, focusing more on the eye and the horns?

Hi Steve - You know I like this one with the light hitting the eye and horn. Nice detail in both. I like the dark bg also. Good for you for trying something a bit different too. I think Morkel's suggestion is a good one.

Hi Steve, this one is hard to pull off, so I think you did very well here to show clearly the eye and the reflection in it. The golden light on the horn added much interest to the image. I too feel if you take off the bottom a little bit, the viewer will be more drawn to the eye. TFS. Loi

This is great! Love the dark tone and the attention drawn to the eye.

    Good work!

Agree with the others about the crop suggestion .Very nice job with the tones in the right place.
