    Default Great Egret

This image was captured at the rookery in Gatorland, Orlando, Florida last March. I worked on it today. I cropped the head tight because in trying other crops and composition this showed the head more powerful presentation than a looser crop. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

Beautiful portrait ... great breeding color with excellent detail, BG, and pose!

I like the idea of a tight crop here but would like a tad more "breathing space" on the right and maybe the top.

Tip-top detail & sharpness, Joe! I love the close crop because that enables one to see every little crease in the face - beautiful!

I knew from the thumbnail that this had to be taken at Gatorland. I went there for the first time last spring and what a great place to get these kind of up close shots.
The techs look great, color is beautiful and the detail in the flesh and feathers is all there. Nice portrait.

I am really enjoying this portrait, Joe. Love the framing and you have just super feather details here.
