I am feeling intimidated by the incredible caliber of images that are being pumped out by the likes of David S, and Binu, Arash,Doug and others this week. For us mere mortals, I am posting an uncommon bird seen on BPN.
Canon 1 DX and 1.4x
ISO 800 SS 1/1000 F 5.6
Taken at midnight on the tundra during Matthew Studebakers' workshop. Not baited or called.
PP: A crop of ~25% so 75% FF, trimmed back 3 stalks in front and under bird that were distracting, levels, increased saturation globally by +5, DE to jaeger and USM to JPEG.
Comments and critiques always learned from and appreciated with thanks,
Gail
Gail,
Spectacular image. Very nice pose with raised wings. Wonderful colors and details. Absolutely superb eye contact, beautiful HA and great details.
I like the dried grass and would remove the grass tip above the tail.Tempting to crop a bit at the bottom.
Very nice Gail. Really looks like Alaska to me because of the tundra looking ground it's standing on. Beautiful pose with the flared wings and the nice eye contact.
Your usual nice techs and feather detail along with the sweet transitioning BG colors make for a really nice frame. Well done.
Come join me for a Custom Raptor Workshop starting this November 2019- January 2020.
P.M. me to inquire on dates, pricing and availabilities. Thank You. www.davidsalemphotography.com
I am enjoying the habitat and BG here, and your low angle really helps to boost this image. Color palette is special. Would have wished for an even better pose on the bird, but we have to take what we are dealt and do the best we can with it.
Scrumptious light and a sweet North American species to be able to photograph. Everything looks pleasing to my eye...One consideration for an alternative composition would be to crop a bit off the top for a more pano look....
