Good bird pose. I actually like the reflection. Maybe the bottom of the frame is a bit too close to the "head" of the reflection, but since it is rather light this does not bother me at all.

The bird looks a bit oversharpened on this monitor, especially around the eye. I would clone out the white particle to the right.

Good one John. I happen to like the 'soft' reflection and would consider giving it a sliver more room at the bottom if you have it and I can just see some graininess in the background but no big deal. Nice work. Cheers, Ian.

Beautiful shot, John! I like the exposure and the texture of the water. Agree with Ian about more room at the bottom.

Nice capture with a good pose and nice details. I agree, if you are going to keep the reflection, which looks good, I would include all of it. Well done

nice image, good detail, like the pose and water drop on end of bill, had a couple of sightings of one on my local river, but not managed a shot yet, very touchy,I don't use a hide, and there is not much cover on the river.

We're just about ready for shorebird migration up here, now if the water level can just recede to give them some shoreline habitat along our rivers!! (water level has been way higher than normal this year). Lots of nice details, good exposure, and I too like the reflection...but I agree the comp needs a bit more room below to give that reflection a border before the frame edge.

Thanks all. Would have to "create" some more bottom. This shows exactly why I usually try to avoid reflections. Will have a bash later.
    Thanks for looking.
