While going for some close-ups a couple of loud quacking ducks flew directly over us, catching this fella's attention for a second or two. It made for a neat pose against the yellow and green background.
Canon 7D + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/400s., f/7.1, ISO 800, natural light, handheld, FF image. In hindsight stopping down to around f/10 (or so) would have been better.
Hi Dan, cool pose here, and you came away with good DOF on this fellow. Overall nice and sharp, and lots of plumage detail to look at. I really like how the yellow eye matches the colour of the upper BG. You certainly grabbed this opportunity.
Its amazing how birds become so aware of others flying in their vicinity.
Very cool Daniel. I like the color scheme and how the BG matches the eye color. Nice and sharp too. Well scene and captured.
