Glacial Runoff

5D3, 24-70II, 1/6 sec, f10, ND6
A falls near the first oil well in Canada in Waterton (I don't recall the name - maybe Daniel or Andrew can tell us)
Yes the water is that blue -- most glacial lakes and some glacial streams exhibit this or other colors- deep blue, emerald or pale blue (and some appear gray or translucent rather than clear) depending upon the diameter of the suspended rock dust. No, its not minerals in the water either.
No color boost applied to rock or water or trees -- although Nik Tonal contrast was applied judiciously. Note the extreme red color is from the water covering the full extent of the waterfall earlier in the season.
From a three week trip to the Rockies this July.

Hi Don. This is beautiful...! The layers of rock, the water, the colours, the composition... I can feel the power, hear the roar... Brilliant. Needs nothing.

I like the composition and the apparent "ferocity" of the water here, Don.
Nice criss-cross of diagonal lines to add strength to the composition too. I feel it's a tad too light in the midtones - toning that down and adding a hint more midtone contrast will lift this image IMHO.

Repost with Mid level contrast boosted slightly, with blending modes enabling the center only

Excellent idea, Morkel.
