    Default Praying (Bear) Mantis

Hi folks July is almost gone ,and Nancy reminded me of this month theme.
So i went again through some older files and found this image .Originally not that much a silhouette as per shot , it was underexposed .So i tried to make the best out of it and went a bit further for the more silhouette effect.
I specially liked the pose of the bear and had a laugh while photographing this .
The reason for this behavior was a Cessna flying very low above us , i was alone with the bear on that lonely beach in Lake Clark NP in AK.

Wonder what you guys think of this.

Hi Andreas - I like this and think you came up with a good result for an underexposed image. I like the way we can see the claws. I do sort of find myself wondering where the other arm is but that may just be because of your title which would suggest both arms up. If it were mine I would clean up the smudges in the urc.

    Rachel

I agree with the comment. The closest paw's outline is visible on the chest.

Love the pose and the end-result, a good one to show we shouldn't be so fast to bin shots.
The hint of detail still visible on the bear (particularly that paw) is delightful. I agree that it needs some cleanup on top :)

I like the simplistic nature of the image Andreas, perhaps a rich Quadtone with the lovely richness of the sunlit fur coming through, double processed can work?

I too like this, Andreas! You have so many gems there in your folders, it takes a Theme to bring them out! Can you give us more info on what the bear was doing?

I like that bit of cloud in the right top corner, it kind of frames everything nicely No clean up for me, thank you!

Rich Quad sounds lovely Steve - great idea, hope Andreas is listening

    Have a great Sunday,
    Gabriela Plesea
