    Default iceberg sunset

It was amazing to me to see monstrous icebergs floating along the Newfoundland shore. I was told these icebergs have taken 2-3 years to float this far from their far north origin and they crack, melt and break apart as they move further south. I felt lucky to hear the canon-like boom of cracking and watch a huge chunk fall off. It is not safe to get close to the icebergs (hey, remember the Titanic!), since in addition to suddenly breaking they also can flip.

I photographed this scene not far from the cemetery I posted earlier. I climbed what seemed like a mountain that abruptly ended in a steep cliff over the ocean. What a view!

I used one of the gazillion color palettes from topaz restyle at 50% opacity. I had never found a use for this program but it did add some pop to the original image. Then I used a very reduced layer of fractalius for a bit of outline definition.

Nancy, how lucky to get to see this. I'd like to see just a little more of the icebergs - could you add just a little bit of light on them - maybe with the Radial Tool in LR? The sky is amazing.

Sweet sky, the iceberg are very nice, I might make this into more of a pano, small crop from the top. Looks like you enjoyed Newfoundland. My only question is did you learn the language.....

Very dramatic Nancy. I like Cheryl's idea about lightening the bergs just a touch. Did you use a vignette? I might back off a bit on it. Overall very pretty, and it must be great to see NFLD. This is on my bucket list.

Thanks guys, I'll incorporate those good suggestions.

"My only question is did you learn the language." Ha, ha Paul! The accents ranged from Scottish to Irish to British and were fun to hear!

I like the image design, the clouds, and the colors. Lightening the water and the bergs might improve it....
