    Default Hogging the spotlight!

    Attached Images Attached Images

A 3 year old male Leopard out on patrol,

taking advantage of one of our camp vehicle's spot light from the front allowed me this different perspective from the usual front lit form.
After trying a few variations on placement I settled on more black walk space than what some members may prefer but was most happiest with this framing, interested to see what other feel about this?

D3s 70-200 f/2.8VRII 1/100s f/2.8 -2 .7EV ISO1600@ 200mm. Cropped out vehicle & spotlight (however including them in also works as another alternate image). H/H from vehicle, some dodging & burning, levels, curves ACR & PS CC.

    C & C most welcome

    Cheers
    Marc

I like! The use of space and the overall mood/story are great, Marc.
I would have preferred a hint more rim light along the back, but you can't have everything eh

I just love this Marc, very very much. Love the space you have given the leopard, gives him freedom to go wherever he wants...This is stunning, a beauty, great work-congratulations

    Kind regards,

Hi Marc - I too really like this. I agree with you and Morkel that a bit more light defining the back would have taken it up a notch but it still works as is. I wonder if you darkened any of the area behind the leopard and if so if you can create a little more separation for the leopard's shadow in the trailing light. Just a thought.

    TFS,
    Rachel

I like......wish it were mine! I love the departure from the norm. Frame it and hang it.

A 'sillhouette' of a different kind - beautiful, Marc! The bright spot under he front feet makes up for the loss of light at the back - love it!

Love this Marc. My only comment would be to try to remove the vehicle track to the left of the leopard. Would clean it up, and remove the human element.

Yes that was my concern as well Ed, not easy to do as the tyre marks are left, centre and right, not a big fan of removal/cloning so kept them in.

Lovely image Mark, great exposure in the spotlight and nice space in the image, i may just selectively darken the highlights in the from paw which looks a little bright
