I wish I could get my foot up behind my head like this! Photo-ing the Loons this year has been rather "thin" ... thought this one was kinda neat.

Hi Sandy. Interesting pose and a nice exposure. Detail is somewhat lacking in the bird; was this a significant crop? Also I'd be tempted to crop about 1/3 of the water off the bottom of the frame.

Great head angle and nice deep shooting angle puts us well into the loon's world. The pose is cool. The IQ could be better...I'd guess a large crop is suspect regarding IQ issues...

I agree the IQ looks like it is suffering from a large crop, but I love the pose and the hypnotizing effect of the back and wing patterns.

Thanks, Doug, Shawn and Daniel... Happy you like the pose! It's been really tough to photo the Loons this year. The IQ def could be better... some off the bottom would be good too ... the burned breast doesn't help much either. Really appreciate your positive comments and thank you for taking the time to do so. Your images inspire me.
I think working on my PP techniques may help too.
