Congratulations Ron!

Of the irises I have or have seen, this is my favorite for its photogenicity. Taken from the garden after a rain (with the permission of my wife) into the white box.

This is an ethereally beautiful image of an iris. Could you please explain what you mean by " into the white box" ?

The use of a white box or ligthbox with a background is a technique I learned from Steve Maxson's posts in Macro and Flora. In the following thread <http://www.birdphotographers.net/forums/showthread.php/121996> he has a link to another site to an article he wrote explaining the technique for insects. I use the same for flowers, and his photo in that thread would have used the same setup as I used here. The background is an out-of-focus photo of vegetation, the lightbox gives very even lighting. The flash is radio triggered and sits upright inside the box, pointing at the top of the box so that all light which reaches the flower is reflected. For my box, I used a milk crate lined with white photographic paper.
