    He's really"giving it some welly" as we say over here ! Very "energetic looking shot !
    Why dont gaudy birds like this get predated more ? Always puzzled me.

    Looks steeper than just above eye level. I also see a strong vertical crop in this fine image. Love the plumage and perch.

    Hi John. Apparently its telling the predators 'dont eat me, I don't taste good' same as kingfishers etc. So they say, but who knows

    Karl the Indigo and the green of the Spruce go well together, great singing pose ,like it a lot.

    These guys do love to sing, but usually from high in the treetops. Nice capture. You might unsharpen the white edges of the primaries just a tad, but otherwise a fine image. Alan's suggestion of a vertical crop is worth exploring, to reduce the impact of the fir(?) branch.

    Fantastic bird and pose. I would play with composition to eliminate the part of the branch with no green.

    Beautiful singing pose, Karl! The bird really stands out! I like it as presented, but +1 to try out a vertical crop.

    Hi Karl, great singing pose, he certainly is putting everything into the song. Love the blue plumage on this fellow, and if anything, I would take a bit off the bottom.
