    A very nice pair Mike.
I would recommend going vertical on this one to avoid the cut tails...:eek::D Your subjects appear a little soft and your background is a wee bit too dark...:) Looking foward to seeing more of your captures...Welcome to the BPN family...

Agree with Gus The image is screaming vertical !!!!

If you can do list the exposure compensation. Will be a big help in seeing what you were doing.

As presented is at least one stop and a half under. You can open the image is PS but would introduce lots of noise and the shadow areas will turn to mush.
We always want to include the entire animal, bird etc. in the image. The tail is clipped. At times you do want to cut body parts but you do so intentionally. Deliberate cut is fine... clip is not !!! You also want to have some space in front of subject to move in and usually less behind !!! One great thing you did for this image is the head angle. Both are looking at you which is very desirable !!!

btw for this image after looking long and hard might go along with the horizontal composition. Would take some the left side and show more of the beautiful bg !!! .... do need the tail !!!

Great composition Mike. I kind of like the horizontal look, but I agree with Gus on the tail. Also your image can go as high as 200kb

thanks Gus, i am now seeing why i should have taken the picture in portrait. the tails were clipped and can't be changed at this point, but at least i can say that i almost got a good shot.
