This Crimson Rosella came in for a drink with many other parrots on the outskirts of town.

    Canon 40D, EF500 f/4, 580EX + gold diffuser, ISO400, 1/100, f/7.1, ec 0, fec+1, a bit croped from the left , a dead leaf cloned out.

Very nice setting, BG, pose and flash work. I might clone out the two partially visible leaves on the right side.

Nicely done. Lovely colors and EXP. Would like to see a bit less room behind the bird and a bit more above. Where did all the pin-point eye highlights come from???

Could add to lighten the tail area just a bit. Would clone the multiple eye reflections leaving just one Love the pose with the slight head turn !!!

Simon, what a treat, I really enjoy looking at birds I don't know. Lovely colors and detail in the feathers :)

Beautiful image Simon, composition is nicely balanced with the inclusion of the leaves. I particularly like the angle of the bird, displaying the patterns on the wings, well done.

Really nice image Simon, with a great pose and use of flash. Agree with comments re: catchlights in the eye and slight crop. But a great image of an underrated bird.
